Bobby Ray Simmons, Jr. better known by his stage name B.o.B, is an American hip hop recording artist, singer-songwriter and record producer from Decatur, Georgia. In 2006, B.o.B was discovered. Jim Jonsin singed B.o.B to his Rebel Rock Entertainment label. A few years later, B.o.B singed a joint deal with Atlantic and rapper T.I.’s Hustle Records.
B.o.B quickly rose to fame after the release of his debut single “Nothin’ on You.” The single reached number one in both the United States and the United Kingdom. He later released “Airplanes,” which also topped several music charts. His single “Magic,” became his third top ten hit on the Billboard Hot 100. B.o.B’s debut studio album, The Adventures of Bobby Ray, was released in 2012. The album reached number one on the Billboard chart, and was later certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America. B.o.B was named the “Hottest MC in the Game of 2010” by MTV on their annual list.
His second studio album, Strange Clouds, was released in 2012. The album spawned six singles, four of which charted well internationally. The song “Strange Clouds,” became his fourth single on the Billboard Hot 100. The album debuted at number five on the Billboard 200. His most recent album is titled, Underground Luxury, which was released in 2013. The lead single “Headband” had major commercial success.
