Ex Cops Released a new video for their song “Black Soap”. The song is from their new album Daggers, which is set for release in October.
The video was premiered via Stereogum and has received praise from critics. Stereogum commented on the calling it, “”their latest set of sleek, shoegaze-inflected urbanite pop” and write “lead single ‘Black Soap’ now has glamorous yet ominous visuals shot on 16mm film that look as much like a fashion shoot as a music video. It’s as appealing to the eyeballs as the song is to the eardrums, which is to say, very.”
Throughout the video, which was filmed in Manhattan and Williamsburg, there is a wide range bright colors creating a hypnotic state. In a statement, Vogue refers to this vibe, “like a shot of power-pop angst from the nineties, ‘Black Soap’ is a whirl of twang and haze and its lyrics are as catchy as its pattering drum beat.”
The group Ex Cops is made up of duo Amalie Bruun and Brian Harding. Their second album is highly anticipated and seems like it will be another success from its singles like “Black Soap”. The video for “Black Soap” can be viewed below. Additional updates on Ex Cops can be found at their website.
