Abby (rhythm guitar, lead vocals), Ally (bass), Ali (lead guitar) and Victoria (drums) form Western Massachusetts indie pop band Potty Mouth. Named for the first Bratmobile album, the band releases not only CDs, but vinyl and cassette tape as well. The Northampton band is also known for self-releasing their music via cassette. Bad Bad, a demo tape, was distributed by band members in three color variations. The 2011 release included “Drip Dry”, “Dog Song” and “What’s A Snipe” on one said as well as “Vacation Gone Band” and “Virgin Enemy” on the other. In 2012 the band self-released Big In Brazil, a cassette that included the tracks “Black and Studs” as well as “Shithead”. It was distributed during the band’s summer tour in 2012. The band returned to more modern formats for their single “The Spins”. The song was released via CD of Marshall Teller Records as a promo in the UK.
Their debut, a six-song EP titled Sun Damage, came out in 2012. It was put out by three separate labels: Brooklyn’s Puzzle Pieces, Buffalo’s Feeble Minds and Boston’s Ride the Snake Records. The EP was released on vinyl and included the track “Hazardville”. Their next record Hell Bent was released in late 2013 and is also available on vinyl. As they did with their previous release, the band recorded at Dead Air Studios in their home state of Massachusetts. It was released via Old Flame Records in the US and Marshall Teller Records in the UK.
