Sean Nelson is best known for his role as the lead singer of Harvey Danger. The group, founded in 1993, was active until its disbanding in 2009. Where Have All the Merrymakers Gone?, their debut, came out in 1998. It was followed by King James Version in 2000 and Something You Have to Work on Christmas (Sometimes), an EP, in 2004. The band’s third full length Little by Little… was released in 2006, as was their EP Cream and Bastards Rise. Their next EP Little Round Mirrors was released the next year. It was followed up by Burn to Shine in 2008 and finally Dead Sea Scrolls in 2007.

As a solo artist Nelson released Make Good Choices last year. Following his involvement with Harvey Danger, Nelson also worked with Death Cab for Cutie, The Long Winters, The Decemberists, Robyn Hitchcock and the Venus 3, Nada Surf, The Vernacular and The Minus 5. He recorded Nelson Sings Nilsson a cover album of Harry Nilsson work in 2006. Nelson also wrote for The Stranger, an alternative paper in Seattle. He also co-wrote the film Humpday with Lynn Shelton. Nelson acted in the movie The Immaculate Conception of Little Dizzle. Currently he co-owns Barsuk Records, a Seattle-based record label.
