For the first time since its inception in Beijing, the Modern Sky Festival will take place on American soil, in none other than one of its most iconic cities: New York. To celebrate, the festival will play host to an eclectic mix of both Chinese and American artists, the latter including Cat Power, Stars, and Atomic Bomb! the Music of William Onyeabor.
The Modern Sky Festival originally began as an outdoor festival in Beijing, China in 2007 and has had a successful run ever since. Highlighting the cultural mix of artists will be a special tribute to Nigerian funk musician William Onyeabor in a semi-jam titled Atomic Bomb! Along with popular American acts such as Cat Power and Stars, many festival attendees will, for the first time, also get the opportunity to experience Chinese acts like Zhang Xuan, Second Hand Rose and Queen Sea Big Shark. This exciting festival begins on October 4th, and you can get your tickets by clicking on the link featured in this article.
