WATCH: Megafauna Releases New Video For “Haunted Factory”

Megafauna, prog rock band from Austin with ‘brontosaurus balls, all-over-the-place beats and combination of jam-band laid-backness with indie-pop appeal’, as described by Houston Press, has released a new video for ‘Haunted Factory’ from their LP ‘Maximalist’.

Inspired by themes of psychosis, loneliness, and personal transformation, the clip features Megafauna’s guitarist and vocalist Dani Neff trapped in a haunted factory and eventually escaping into an idyllic forest. Video was shot in the broken-down boiler rooms and peeling laundry facilities of Texas’s oldest psychiatric hospital, says a press-release.

Perhaps a little too much choreography in the clip, but overall – a good breath of fresh air in the prog rock world by Megafauna. Creepy and psychedelic on one side, catchy and groovy – on the other. Complex time signatures are played well and tricky, making you want to put on repeat.
