LISTEN: Merchandise Releases New Song “Green Lady”

Tampa Bay shoegaze post-punk outfit Merchandise presented a new track, and it’s something you would definitely want to hear.

Since their last record – 2012’s ‘Children Of Desire’, Merchandise got better and better, attracting much attention and raising expectations. Now we can say the latter start fulfilling with ‘Green Lady’ – an atmospheric ode to 1980’s pop music, and somehow reminding of Echo & The Bunnymen and Tears For Fears.

With chilling synthesizer and solid programmed drum section, you can’t help but take a stroll with the band into the moment when you are alone, and enjoying it.

Don’t have to be a genius to agree with Stereogum’s definition of the latest Merchandise music – ‘it doesn’t sound like 2014 and it doesn’t belong to 2014; it kinda sounds like 1984, if anything, but really, it’s one for the ages’.

Enjoy Merchandise’s new beginning – ‘Green Lady’ track below.

Merchandise will be touring North America and Europe from September, 7, playing tracks from their upcoming LP ‘After The End’, that will be released August, 25 via 4AD. North American tour supporting acts are Lower, Ninos Du Brasil and some others.
