You Blew It! formed in 2009 in Orlando, Florida. After several line-up changes the band has solidified as Tanner Jones, Andy Anaya, Trevor O’Hare and Matt Nissley. They released the EP You Blew It! in 2009 and The Past In Present EP in 2010. The two EPs were released off of Good Friends Records. In 2012 they also put out a full length Grow Up, Dude. In early 2014 they released another full length Keep Doing What You’re Doing. Most recently the band recorded a Weezer cover album titled You Blue It, that includes the tracks “In The Garage”, “My Name Is Jonas”, “Only In Dreams”, “Surf Wax America”, and “Susanne”.
They shot a video for the single “You & Me & Me” off of their sophomore full length “Keep Doing What You’re Doing”:
Sonically somewhere between emo and punk rock, the band has cultured a sound reminiscent of the 1990s emo bands. The band has toured with and been compared to Missouri’s The Get Up Kids. Pitchfork called them “noticeably cleaner and more purposeful…the grown-up sonics only make the underlying, pound-the-dashboard, yell-to-yourself sentiments all the more loud and clear.”
