Joseph Somers-Morales, known as SoMo, is an American R&B/pop singer-songwriter from Texas. His professional music career sparked in 2011 when he started gaining recognition of his YouTube page where he released original music, along with covers from recording artist including, Chris Brown, The Weeknd, and Drake.
In 2013, SoMo signed a recording contract with Republic Records. He released remastered version of his 2012 mixtape, My Life, and his debut single “Ride.” His self titled debut album, SoMo, was later released in 2014. The debut album reached number six on the Billboard charts and number one on the iTunes Album Chart. “Ride” was certified Gold and remained in the Top 10 of the iTunes R&B chart for 25 consecutive weeks. The single also peaked at number 76 on the Billboard Hot 100.
SoMo has been on the road touring, as well as working in the studio with various artists and songwriters, including Jeremih, Kevin Rudolph, Hoodie Allen, The Rascals and Babyface. Recently, SoMo released a remix of his most recent single “Show Off” featuring Kirko Bangz. SoMo has also just started recording his forthcoming album.
