Doomtree Releases New Song “.38 Airweight”

Doomtree has released new music featuring the hip hop collective’s all new crew. The first track since 2011’s critically acclaimed No Kings album, “.38 Airweight” was released today on The Current.

The press release quotes producer Lazerbeak explaining, “We’ve been in the studio making a ton of songs with a new album in mind and are really pumped about how things are turning out. Wanted to drop this leaker track off early while it’s still fresh to let people know we’re getting back at it.” This ‘leaker track’ out of the Minesota septet samples four of the five rappers in the collective, spitting hoppy verses against electro laser beams and car alarms that add dimension to the hip hop beat.

Without a release date for the record quite yet, the collective has a 500-page color book entitled Every Single Day due out August 26. The book will include over ten years of behind the scenes photos, artworks, artifacts, and inside jokes, with the pre-order package available now, including a signed limited edition hard cover book and a 22-track Best of False Hopes CD featuring rare songs from the early years. The crew will appear at the Minnesota State Fair Grandstand on August 30th and at Dallas’s Index Fest in late September.
