Milkboy’s 3-Day Anniversary 8/14-8/16 (ft. The Lawsuits, The Ataris, Black Landlord, Cheerleader, Alright Junior, & more)

To celebrate their 3rd Anniversary, Milkboy is putting together a special 3-day event with a ton of great performers. If great names like The Lawsuits, Cheerleader, and Black Landlord weren’t enough to entice you, the venue is giving you all of this for free. This August, from the 14th to the 16th head over to Milkboy for one or all three nights!

For their first night of free music, Milkboy presents some great local hip hop in the form of Black Landlord (headlining this year’s 2nd Street Festival) and ILL Doots. Thursday night’s festivities kick off a half hour earlier than the other nights. So make sure you’re there at 8pm!

On Friday, August 15, Milkboy presents The Ataris, Cheerleader, Alright Junior, and Strap. The Ataris go way back, having formed in 1996. You certinaly remember them from their 2003 release So Long, Astoria, which sold over a million copies and gave us hits like “In This Diary” and “Boys of Summer.” The lineup has changed several times since they first began, but several of the original members joined forces recently to celebrate the 10th anniversary of that career-defining album. Philly’s own Cheerleader are also set to perform on Friday night. They recently opened for Cheers Elephant and Toy Soldiers. They’ll be releasing new music in the coming weeks – so stay tuned for that.

Capping off the 3-day event, The Lawsuits are set to play on Saturday, August 16. They are quickly rising in the Philly scene, having been named the Philadelphia Indie Band of the Year in 2013 at the Tri-State Indie Awards. They released Cool Cool Cool in October of last year. The Lawsuits just gave a stellar performance at XPoNential Festival this past weekend, and we expect to see another great show this August.
