Andrew McMahon is a singer/songwriter. He was originally the vocalist, pianist, and primary songwriter for the two bands Something Corporate and Jack’s Mannequin. He performs solo both under his own name, and the Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness. His first solo work was released in 2013 titled, The Pop Underground.
In 2012, McMahon’s old bands website, Jack’s Mannequin, redirected to www.andrewmcmahon.com. This was the turning point for McMahon to release new solo music under his own name. Along with the promise of new music, it was announced McMahon would be supporting Fun. on the tour in early 2013. He would embark on a solo headlining tour that spring. His first solo show was played in West Hollywood at the Viper Room.
The Pop Underground EP, was produced by Mark Williams and Tony Hoffer. “Synesthesia” became the first single off of the EP, and essentially launched McMahon’s solo career. The music video premiered in June of last year.
