Time to take things back to the basics; two of indie rock’s founding fathers are set to hit the road together. Thurston Moore and Sebadoh have announced dates for their joint tour this Fall. Check below for tickets and dates.
You don’t have to look very far or very long through the rock n’ roll canon before you find Moore’s name. He had his start with the wildly inventive, wildly weird pioneers of Sonic Youth, quickly earning a name for himself as a creative, devastatingly skilled guitarist.
Since then, he’s become a prolific collaborator, working alongside the likes of Lydia Lunch (influential poet, singer, and empowerment speaker), Yoko Ono, and Blake Judd of Nachtmystium. He’s headed for another high-power combination with his upcoming tour, which will have him playing alongside…
Those dudes. Sebadoh were among the most influential lo-fi acts around in the late 80’s and 90’s. 2013 was a big year for them, and saw their first new studio album in fourteen years – needless to say they’re catching a second wind. The two bands are touring around already packed schedules and, in Moore’s case, the frenzy that always precedes a new release. Moore broke the news awhile back that his next project is due out this September.
