Ryan Adams kicked off his latest tour this week in Portland, Maine, in support of his upcoming solo album. At his Burlington, Vt., concert Adams introduced fans to some of the new material, but also took time to cover Danzig’s “Mother”.
In a video shot from the audience of Burlington’s Flynn Center for the Performing Arts, Adams stands in front a flag that that bears the stripes and colors of the American flag; yet, has a peace sign where the stars would normally be placed. Other than that, and a lineup of guitars and amplifiers, the stage remains largely undecorated.
Onstage, Adams handles his electric guitar with ease, bringing the 1980s heavy metal theoretical challenge to musical censorship to a new audience.

The Burlington show also included a new song called, “Wrecking Ball”. And, no, it’s not a cover of the Miley Cyrus song of the same title, according to Consequence of Sound.
