Continuing their collaboration in black-and-white, Swedish dance hit singer Robyn and Norwegian electropop duo Röyksopp have just released a music video for their joint EP title track – ‘Do It Again‘.
Directed by Martin de Thurah, it shows a six-minute wave of protest against any pointless government limitations, against forcible deprivation of access to the beautiful things in life. Whether it’s freedom of thought, intimate dance of two or enjoying the works of art.
Here’s what Martin de Thurah, who previously directed videos for Röyksopp, Fever Ray and Kanye West, says about the clip: “I worked with the idea of ‘what is our heart’s desire?’ – and I realised that no one in the world truly gets to live out their passions. We are all under some construct, whether you’re an atheist living in Denmark or a gay person in Russia.”
The song itself presents a classy Robyn’s vocal performance, mixed with Röyksopp’s blasting rhythms, making us want to dance to the beat. Without doubt, one more great song to your iPod.
May-released ‘Do It Again’ EP, with generally positive reviews from music critics, appeared to be a natural collaboration of two Scandinavian synthpop\electropop music artists feeling each other pretty well, with Röyksopp’s charming beats and Robyn’s energetic soprano hit-maker.
By the way, Robyn and Röyksopp collaboration tour is still ongoing, don’t miss the band’s performance in your city!
