Aaron Smith, better known by his stage name Shwayze, is an American rapper. His first single “Buzzin’” peaked at number 46 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and his second single “Corona and Lime,” reached number 23. Corona and Lime also peaked at number three in the US iTunes Store.
Shwayze’s self-titled debut album was released in 2008. With the help of his two hit singles, the album debuted at number 10 on Billboard, and sold over 47,000 copies in its first week of sales. “Buzzin'” was the inspiration for MTV’s hit show Buzzin’, named after the song. The song featured in Pontiac commercials, and was a huge hit in the hip hop community.
Shwayze has become known as a basic Southern Californian musician. His lyrics include drugs, women, and constant partying, which contrast uniquely with the mellow beats and simple instrumental work. Shwayze’s work has been influenced by Crazy Town, Pharcyde, and Atmosphere.
