Death From Above 1979 are finally releasing their second album. Nearly 10 years after they debuted their first album, You’re a Woman, I’m a Machine, the band has announced the release of the follow upIn The Physical World this September. In support of the new release, the band will be headed out on a fall tour. They’ll head to Philly in November for a stop at Union Transfer on the 29th.
Death From Above 1979 released their first album in 2004. Then in 2006, the duo split. In August of that year, Jesse F. Keeler took to the band’s forum to announce that the band had officially disbanded. A decision that, he claimed, had been made a year prior. In a later interview, he would cite creative differences among he and band member Sebastien Grainger. But then in 2011, Grainger announced via the band’s website that they would be reuniting. In 2012, they announced a Canadian tour in order to debut some of the new music they had been working on. In June of last year, they cancelled an appearance at Gov Ball, and a month later announced that a new album was in the works.
