Joyce Manor is an American Punk Rock band from Torrance, California, that forming in 2008. The band consist of Barry Johnson (lead vocals/guitar), Chase Knobbe (guitar), Kurt Walcher (drums), and Matt Ebert (bass and backup vocals).
The group joined 6131 Records in 2010 where they released their debut self titled album just year later. The album received positive fan praise, which landed the band on many end of the year “best-of” list. Joyce Manor switched labels and moved to Asian Man Records for their next release, Of All Things I Will Soon Grow Tired, which was released in 2012.
Their latest album, Never Hungover Again, is going to be released under Epitaph Records. The album is set to be released this upcoming week on July 22, 2014. The album is currently being streamed on NPR’s First Listen page. The page quotes,
“Never Hungover Again begins with a cold open — just a one-second chord and vocalist/guitarist Barry Johnson “looking at your face in the dark” — of a lanky pop song that already seems to be in progress. Joyce Manor has never been one to extend the drama, with albums shorter than it takes to watch an episode of Space Ghost Coast to Coast; the punk band can pack an emotional wallop with as much as a yelp.”
