Will Anderson (vocals, guitar, piano), Johnny Stubblefield (drums), Alex Hargrave (bass) and Kit French (saxophones, keyboards, vocals) make up the pop punk band Parachute. Previously Anderson and Stubblefield had played together in the band Sparky’s Flaw. They added classmates Hargrave and French to complete the line-up while everyone was still in high school in Charlottesville, Virginia. The four continued playing music together while attending UVA, when they added Nate McFarland (guitar, vocals) to the act. The band was also signed to Mercury Records during this time.
The band was renamed Parachute after the four graduated college. As Parachute they began touring extensively and in 2009 recorded their debut Losing Sleep. In 2011 they released The Way It Was and in 2013 they released Overnight, both off of Mercury. Apart from their full lengths, Parachute also recorded Live from the Recording Studio in 2002, One Small Step in 2005, Sparky’s Flaw EP in 2007 and Winterlove EP.
