The word is out: The Ting Tings are talking about their new album, ‘Super Critical’ that features one of their hit songs, “Wrong Club.” Listen below to this fun and rhythmic tune that plays around with funky electric guitar chords and groovy base riffs. Along with a dynamic beat and soft vocals, the duo brings a lot of fun and energy to their music.
The album was recorded in Ibiza, one of the Balearic Islands in the Mediterranean. According to NME news, Andy Taylor from the English rock band ‘Duran Duran’ co-produced the album. This extraordinary combination of talent brought together a comeback record.
Even with the beautiful Mediterranean weather, food, culture, and people, singer Katie White claims it wasn’t easy for the two to record the album, especially with all these distractions. She states, “We had a difficult time making our second record. It was a perfect storm of everything going wrong. We made a first record where everything worked and then spent two years making another one with a lot of suits trying to tell us what had worked about it, even though they weren’t there.”
The duo’s Jules DeMartino also speaks about his adventures with recording this new album: “We’d been to Berlin to make the second record and done nothing but get high and look at great architecture.” He further states, “Going to Ibiza had ‘party’ written all over it. Obviously we were going to get nothing done.”
Even with all the difficulties that the duo had to face to get it recorded, here is the list of the tracks on the ‘Super Critical’ album:
