Parachute is an American pop rock band from Charlottesville, Virginia that formed in 2006. They have toured and promoted their music over the years and released their major label debut album, Losing Sleep, in 2009. Their second album, The Way It Was, was released a few years after in 2011. Their latest album, Overnight, was released just last August.
Parachute released “Hearts Go Crazy,” their intended lead single off of Overnight. Their second single “Can’t Help,” was performed on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and later became the albums leading single off of the album. “Hearts Go Crazy” was not included on the album and the band instead promoted “Can’t Help.” The album, Overnight, topped the iTunes album charts in the top ten during its first week of sales. It peaked at number three. “Overnight” also marked the band’s highest chart position, reaching as high as fifteen on the US Billboard 200.
Last summer, the band embarked on a nationwide headlining tour which including 32 dates, in support of their new album Overnight, the majority of which were sell-out shows. Parachute also toured nationally on the Plain White T’s headlining tour in November 2013. Since touring with The Plain White T’s, Parachute continued their Overnight tour by opening shows for Gavin DeGraw and Walk Off the Earth in 2014.
