Sonno is Cortini’s Hospital Productions debut. Although, he is best known as the lead electronic performer in Nine Inch Nails, he has been exploring other paths in recent years. First working as ‘Sonoio’, and he has also released two albums on Important Records under his own name highlighting his production abilities.
And, he made the tracks on the limited edition vinyl release available for preview through the purchase site, Boomkat.
In a product review, Boomkat described the album as a “surprising departure on this debut album for Hospital Productions by making use of little more than a Roland MC 202 fed through a delay pedal and ambient sound recordings taken in various hotel rooms recorded direct, sometimes into a small portable speaker system.”
It is an album that they highly recommend, especially for fans of classic material like ENO or AFX, because Sonno is ‘soaked in atmosphere.’
