New Politics w/ Bad Suns & Somekindawonderful @ The TLA 11/29

This fall you can “shake it like a bad girl up in Harlem” when New Politics make their way to Philly! They’ll be joined by Bad Suns and Somekindawonderful on November 29th at The TLA!

The boys of New Politics are currently on tour with Fall Out Boy and Paramore, joining them for The Monument Tour just a week ago. They’ll be headed out on a fall tour which will kick off on October 14th in a yet to be announced location. They’ll arrive in Philly at the end of November when they perform at The TLA. Grab your tickets when they go on sale this Friday!

The dance-rock band from Copenhagen, Denmark started to really make a name for themselves with the success of “Harlem,” a track off their second album, A Bad Girl in Harlem. They released their first album in 2010, the self-titled New Politics, which features their song “Yeah Yeah Yeah.” Since signing with RCA back in 2009, New Politics have been busy touring here in the US and abroad. In addition to touring with Fall Out Boy and Paramore, they’ve also supported acts like P!nk, Thirty Seconds to Mars, and Panic! At The Disco.

And now they’re headed out with support of their own. Bad Suns are relatively new, having formed in 2012. We had a chance to catch an acoustic set of theirs down at SXSW, so we’re excited to see them when they arrive in Philly this November. They’ve released their debut studio album, Language & Perspective and are headed out on a tour of their own this summer. Frontman Christo Bowman recently talked about the new album and the importance of absorbing it in its full form. He says, “We’re all huge fans of ‘the album’ as a concept; we’ve spent years of our lives writing, playing, and bringing this one to life. We wanted to create a listening experience that feels consistent, yet as if each song is better than the one that precedes it.” Take a listen to the new album, and head to The TLA this November to hear it in the flesh.

Finishing out the lineup for the November show is Somekindawonderful, who also released their debut album last month. The self-titled release features the hit single “Reverse” which the group debuted earlier this year. They want to create music that will last a lifetime. They say, “We want to sound new and modern, but in the same sense, take from your old classic bands – the Police, Genesis, Rush – to where it’s lasting forever. Twenty years from now, people will still be listening to Somekindawonderful.” While that’s still to be seen, people will certainly be listening to them this November when they play at The TLA. Grab your tickets this Friday and make sure you’re one of those people!
