Metallica released a new short film titled Glastonbury… A Film by Julien Temple. The purpose of the short is to address some of the criticism the band has recently received.
Metallica’s frontman, James Hetfield’s involvement in a mini-series about bear hunting caused some controversy over the band headlining at Glastonbury. However, Metallica used the airing of the video to retaliate.
The video is a compilation of scenes from The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly and an English fox hunt. From the start, it is not clear what to expect. As the video gets under way, there are four bears shooting rifles at hunters. It is revealed that those bears are the four members of Metallica in masks. The soundtrack of the short video include Ylvis’ “What Does the Fox Say” and Sweet’s “Fox on the Run”.
While the intended meaning of the video or purpose for shooting it may be not be clarified by the band, it is clear that Metallica refuses to take criticism lightly. The full video can be viewed alone. For more information on Metallica at Glastonbury, click here.
