The Hood Internet is a Chicago-based production duo that specializes in mashups of hip hop and indie rock. The duo is composed of Aaron Brink and Steve Reidell. The Hood Internet runs a blog where they release their music, which helped the duo venture into performing live DJ sets. New York Magazine categorized The Hood Internet in the “lowbrow” and “brilliant” section of their Approval Matrix in 2007.

The Hood Internet produced the track “Please, No Pictures” from BBU’s, Bell Hooks mixtape in 2012. That same year, the duo also entirely produced Max B and Isaiah Toothaker’s, Toothy Wavy. The Hood Internet’s debut studio album, FEAT, was released on Decon Records. The album consisted of their popular singles “Won’t Fuck Us Over” and “Critical Captions“.

The Hood Internet has played large music festivals including SXSW, Coachella, Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits, and more. Catch them at Red 7, Saturday, July 26.
