Now celebrating its seventh year, the Sunset Strip Music Festival has announced its initial lineup for the September 20th and 21st event. Jane’s Addiction will be serving as an honoree at this year’s fest, with bands such as Cold War Kids and the reunited Failure rounding out the rest of the lineup.
SSMF, held between Doheny Drive and San Vicente Boulevard on Sunset Boulevard, has seen such big names in recent years as Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Marilyn Manson and Mötley Crüe.
At its 2014 installment, Jane’s Addiction will be presented with the “Elmer Valentine Award”, noting the band’s impact on the music of The Strip over the years. The group, who will be performing that Saturday night, will play their influential album Nothing’s Shocking in its entirety.
