Drake took to twitter recently to announce the upcoming Drake vs. Lil Wayne Tour. The US tour will kick off in New York this August and hit 31 cities before it comes to a close at the end of September in Texas. The frequent collaborators will arrive in the Philly area with a stop at Camden’s Susquehanna Bank Center on August 21st. Tickets go on sale tomorrow!
Drake just wrapped up his own Would You Like a Tour?, which made a stop in Philly back in December. Now he teams up with his mentor and Young Money affiliate, Lil Wayne, for what is sure to be one of the biggest hip hop events of the summer! The two have frequently guested on each other’s songs, the latest effort being “Believe Me,” the first single from Lil Wayne’s upcoming album. Both Drake and Lil Wayne each have a huge collection of hits, so expect to hear all of your favorites this August. You can also probably expect to see the two perform together, as they so often do.
We also anticipate some new material, as Lil Wayne is hard at work on Tha Carter V, which is said to be his final album. It seems the rap veteran has had enough of the game, saying “I’ve been rappin’ since I was 8 years old. I’m 30 now, man. That’s a long time, man.” Meanwhile, Drake is still out supporting his Grammy nominated third studio album, Nothing Was the Same. Earlier this month he released a new track entitled “O to 100/ The Catch Up” in which he hints at a new album coming in the spring of 2015.
