OutKast is heading home. After a torrid year of touring coming off their recent reunion, the Southern rap pioneers have finally announced an Atlanta gig. They’ll be making landfall at Centennial Olympic Park on September 27 – we like their odds of filling it.
It’s been one busy year for André 3000 and Big Boi. There were murmurs of a reunion at Coachella as early as Fall 2013, and the duo delivered this year – and not just at Coachella. OutKast has been a consistent headliner at some of the largest music festivals of 2014, including Counterpoint, Sasquatch, and the Governor’s Ball. Future dates have them ranging from the Fuji Rock Festival in Japan all the way to Helsinki’s Flow Festival.
They’re covering some ground, is what we’re saying.
But, even with all that, Atlanta has been seemingly neglected. Well no longer, the band recently confirmed the September date, and look ready to be homeward bound.
