Amen welcomes former Slayer and current Philm drummer, Dave Lombardo, to the fold. This news comes on the heels of an announcement about a new album from Amen, due out sometime later this year. And, ahead of the band’s U.K. tour this August.
Lombardo rounds out Amen’s lineup, which is led by vocalist Casey Chaos, and features the talents of bassist John Fahnestock and guitarists Duke Decter and John King.
“My career in thrash was created from my love of the punk genre. There is an excitement in this particular style of music that’s vital for me. It’s aggressive, honest and needed,” Lombardo told Blabbermouth. And, he expressed excitement about joining the band.
“I am very proud to have been asked to be part of this amazing production with Casey Chaos and Ross Robinson,” Lombardo said in an interview with Blabbermouth.
Lombardo left Slayer following a contractual dispute before the band’s 2013 Australian tour, and Paul Bostaph later permanently replaced him.
For his part, Chaos added that it was great to be working with Lombardo again, because of what he brings to the table as a powerful, aggressive, and passionate musician.
Ross Robinson, who is best known for his work with Korn, Limp Bizkit, and Sepultura, is producing the upcoming Amen album.
Looking ahead at the U.K. tour, Lombardo told Blabbermouth that he was “looking forward to performing with Amen before returning to Europe with Philm in September.”
