Us The Duo @ Emo’s Austin 7/31

Husband and wife Michael and Carrisa Alvarado make up the musical duo, Us The Duo. The two were emerging solo artists from opposite sides of the country, randomly met, fell in love and combined their talents. After posting a few successful YouTube videos and six-second covers on Vine, they decided to write their own music together, leading to their first self-titled album in 2012. After the release, Michael and Carissa got married and have been playing music and traveling together ever since.

The two have gained quick exposure in the music industry within the last six months. Their second album, No Matter Where You Are, was released in May of this year, and climbed to number nine on the iTunes Pop Chart, and number seven on Billboard’s Heatseekers Chart. Their Vine account has gained over 3.3 million followers just by recording 6 second covers of hit songs, like “Titanium” by David Guetta as displayed below.

Us The Duo attended the 2014 Billboard Music Awards as official artists. Their success has led to mass press recognition and media attention from Billboard, the Hollywood Reporter, Business Insider, BuzzFeed and iHeartRadio. Good Morning America also invited Us The Duo to perform live on the show in February. Us The Duo is signed to Republic Records and is embarking on their North American Tour this July.
