Simon Green, the mastermind of Bonobo, is a British musician, producer, and DJ. Green’s 2013 album, The North Borders, was the peak of his career to date. The record displays Green’s melodic sounds with his use of cutting edge electronics, drums and heavy bass. Green often tours solo, but is sometimes found playing a set with a full band. The band plays live renditions of studio material, with a singer, keyboardist, guitarist, saxophonist, string section, electronics and drummer.
The first single off of Bonobo’s latest album, The North Borders, is titled “Cirrus.” The single had its worldwide debut on Gilles Peterson’s BBC Radio 6 program. In the single, Bonobo’s unique sound is demonstrated with his elements, including bass lines and percussion fading in and out of each other.
Since The North Borders’ release, Green has played over 140 sold out shows across four continents and 25 countries. He has sold over 500,000 tickets and has wowed his audiences with the hypotonic, extended live versions of his songs. He has performed sold out shows at The Sydney Opera House and Brixon Academy. In addition, he has played large festivals, including Coachella and SXSW.
