Vacationer @ Johnny Brenda’s 6/25

This week we announced two great shows for fans of local Philadelphia talent. Now we’re adding another must attend event to the list. Philly’s own, Vacationer will celebrate the release of their new album at Johnny Brenda’s this June. Grab your tickets now and join the celebration on June 25th!

Vacationer will release the new album, Relief, on June 24th. And a day later you’ll be able to catch them performing the new music at the album release show at Johnny Brenda’s. To tide us over until then, Vacationer has so far released two tracks from the forthcoming album. You can stream both “The Wild Life” and “In The Grass” via the band’s SoundCloud. Vacationer released their debut LP, Gone, in 2012. The name of the band is a significant factor in the music they create. Their songs are “designed with the sole purpose of relaxing the listener and sending their mind on a well-deserved trip.”

Opening for Vacationer at the album release will be Joywave, a band hailing from New York. They released their first single back in January of 2011, and followed it up with a mixtape in March of that year. In March of 2o12 they released Koda Vista, followed by another mixtape in 2013. Finally, their EP, How Do You Feel, dropped in March of this year. They supported the release with a slew of performances at SXSW.

In addition to the album release show, you can catch Vacationer at the Budweiser Made in America Festival this Labor Day weekend. They are the sole representatives from Philadelphia on our portion of the lineup. You’ll definitely want to lend your support to them while you’re at MIA.
