Philly’s own Cheers Elephant return to the area for a night of music and fun with fellow Philadelphians, Toy Soldiers. The two bands will be co-headlining an event this summer at Union Transfer. Join them on July 18th for what promises to be an awesome time! You definitely do not want to miss this one!
As you probably already know, Cheers Elephant recently relocated to Southern California where they’ve been gracing the West Coast with their psychadelic pop rock sound. This summer they’ll head out on a tour throughout July and August, bringing their music across the country. They’ve been dubbed “Chew it up, Spit it out, Rock and Roll,” and Cheers Elephant shows no sign of slowing down. Fresh off several well-received performances at SXSW, they’ll be bringing new songs and new merch to their tour stops this summer.
Joining Cheers Elephant for one night only during their stop in Philadelphia will be their friends Toy Soldiers. Toy Soldiers was formed way back in 2007 by Ron Gallo, but at the time was just a duo. Over the years, the band has evolved and fluctuated in size, ranging from 2 to 12 members. The current band sits at 5 members, including founder Ron Gallo, Dominic Billet, Bill McCloskey, Matt Kelly, and Luke Leidy. They released their second full-length album, The Maybe Boys, in 2013 and the record truly feels like a melding of all of their previous work. Much like their friends, Toy Soldiers are quickly becoming a much talked about band, having recently been named one of the “Top Bands to Watch in 2013” by USA Today.
You do not want to miss either of these great Philly acts when they arrive on the Union Transfer stage this July. Get your tickets now!
