The Brit dance heroes are finally back. We haven’t gotten a new Basement Jaxx studio album in a long, long time – not since 2009’s Scars in fact. They’ve stayed plenty busy; in 2011 they scored the cult 2011 monster movie Attack the Block, and released the musical oddity Basement Jaxx vs. Metropole Orkest – a collection of older material reworked for an orchestral performance.
Still, we’ve been waiting a long time for this one. The duo have been teasing a new album for years, but it only was very recently that we got a concrete release date and track listing. Junto is set to drop in late August. The irresistible EDM crooner “Unicorn” was streamed alongside the announcement, and from the start was a clear candidate for the music video treatment. Basement Jaxx made it happen, and it’s glorious – exactly what we expected from a song named “Unicorn”.
