Pearl Jam Announces Fall 2014 Tour Dates

Pearl Jam is heading back out on the road this fall in support of their tenth album, Lightning Bolt. The mini-tour, which will run from October 1-22, takes the band on speedy jaunt across the south and Midwest and includes both weekends of the Austin City Limits Music Festival, which Pearl Jam is co-headlining with Outkast, Beck, Lana Del Rey, and others.

Despite frontman Eddie Vedder’s recent solo ventures, Pearl Jam remains united. Lightning Bolt, released in October 2013, is the fifth Pearl Jam album to reach No. 1 on the Billboard charts. They’ve already taken Lighting Bolt around the world: since late 2013, Pearl Jam has toured Australia, New Zealand, and the east and west coasts of the U.S., and they’ve announced summer 2014 tour dates in Europe.

Lightning Bolt strikes a balance between maintaining the sound and vibe Pearl Jam fans appreciate while also acknowledging the natural maturation of a band that’s made music for over two decades. “Sirens,” the album’s second single, raises questions about aging and mortality in a musical package that critics have called a return to the classic Pearl Jam sound.
