English singer/songwriter Anna Calvi comes to us with yet another track from her exciting upcoming covers EP Strange Weather (which drops July 15). This time, she gives FKA Twigs’s “Papi Pacify” the Calvi treatment, performing the song with her distinctly emotive, breathy voice.
Calvi has already proven herself to be an artist with a particular aptitude for covers: in December, she released her own version of Bruce Springsteen’s “Fire” as a B-side for one of her singles. Strange Weather features David Byrne of the Talking Heads and will include covers of songs by David Bowie and Suicide, among other artists.
The very busy Calvi already released two music videos this year, and will be performing at the Sydney Opera House in a tribute to Italian record producer and “godfather of EDM” Giorgio Moroder in June.
