Lily Allen is heading out on her first North American tour in 5 years! Fans of the British superstar will certainly be anxious to check her out when her tour comes to Philly this September. Lily Allen is headed to The Electric Factory on September 19th, and tickets are on sale now.
Allen is out supporting her most recent album, Sheezus, which dropped at the beginning of May. It’s hard to believe this is only her third studio album. Her first big single “Smile” topped the charts way back in 2006. But in 2009, Lily Allen took a break from the music biz, with a hiatus following her second studio album, It’s Not Me, It’s You. And Lily Allen isn’t returning quietly. The titular track from the new album calls out all of the leading ladies of music from Lady Gaga and Beyoncé to breakout artist Lorde. You can catch the video for the song here.
The album and subsequently Lily Allen’s comeback seems to be off to a successful start, with Sheezus debuting at number 1 in the UK. In contrast, the album only debuted at number 12 here in the states. At a recent NYC performance, Allen cracked a few jokes about the figures saying, “Thank you to all those 17 people who downloaded my album.” For what it’s worth, the performance was positively received. with Allen’s vibrant personality stealing the show as usual. Catch Lily Allen when she makes her way to Philly this September!
