It’s the newest release from dynamite pop team Robyn and Royksopp. The two are already hard at work on a mini-album, and have released their newest video, for the song “Sayit”.
As you might expect from the duo, the song is a dance track with an electronic, almost sci-fi feel. The artists use an all black and white format and some serious video effects that make Robyn look like she’s spontaneously melting away. Combined with the voice of a robot and a lot of somewhat frightening groups of images, the video is also done primarily in shadows.
Robyn’s collaboration with Royksopp has taken her music out of the territory of the strictly pop and has added a lot of fun beats to her arsenal. Although she’s always had electronic influences, they make more of an appearance on tracks like “Sayit”
Robyn and Royksopp’s newest album, Do It Again comes out on May 26th through Cherrytree/Interscope. The title track has already been shared and this is the third release from the small album, including a very short snippet of the song “Monument”. The duo’s Do It Again tour begins in June. You can watch the trippy, but creatively done music video for “Sayit,” below.
