Returning to the hardcore fold after spending time exploring their musical vision, BORIS is set to release their newest album, Noise, on June 17th, via Sargent House Records. So far they’ve given a taste of what’s to come via “Quicksilver,” and now they’ve provided fans a video for their latest, “Vanilla.”
Renowned for their experimental ways with metal, BORIS is also well-known for keeping their fans pleased with frequent releases. In 2011 it was with the release of three separate LPs – New Album, Heavy Rocks and Attention Please. The following year they came out with Präparat, as well as the reissue of 2006’s Vein, then The Thing Which Solomon Overlooked – Chonicle, which was a compilation of all their 2012 albums, plus additional features.
So far, 2014 only sees one album release for the band, as well as a tour that includes the FYF Fest, but there’s still plenty of time left for BORIS to create more music. Noise looks to be an expressive release for them, in the meantime. Says the band:
If we had to suggest just one album for those unfamiliar with BORIS’ music, we will pick this for sure.
As for the grungy “Vanilla” video, it may not feature a lot of action, but it does have just the right mix of smoke and colors appropriate for Japanese sludge metal. See for yourself:
