Head to the Kimmel Center this July for a unique night of fun. What better way to celebrate summer then with a night of activities and entertainment at the Kimmel Center. The event kicks off at 8pm and goes until 2am, and there are plenty of things to do throughout the evening. Your $30 ticket will get you access to each of the event’s venues all night long.
Start things off in the Jazz Lounge where you’ll be treated to world-premiere performances from the Kimmel’s Jazz Residency Artists. Later, at Verizon Hall you’ll be able to catch performances from San Fermin and headliner Real Estate. San Fermin, the baroque pop band from Brooklyn, released their self-titled debut album in September of last year. The album has been described as “one of the year’s most surprising, ambitious, evocative and moving records.” The night’s headliners, Real Estate, are also based out of Brooklyn. They released their third album, Atlas, in March. The album has received positive reviews and has been seen as a mature step forward from their “pool party band” sound.
In between the exceptional music, guests of Solstice in the City can enjoy foosball, skeeball, ping pong, and even hammocks in the Solstice Lounge. But the night doesn’t have to end there. DJ MR BEST will turn Commonwealth Plaza into a late night dance party. And ending the night will be a special performance from La Compagnie du Transe Express, the percussion troupe who fascinated onlookers during the 2011 PIFA Street Fair.
