Madlib has a new song called “Cue 06” off of a soundtrack for which he created beats.
The soundtrack is for Our Vinyl Weighs a Ton (This is Stones Throw Records), which is being released on DVD and Blu-Ray. The soundtrack is available for digital download now, and the download is free with the purchase of the 2-disc movie set. The 10-track Madlib soundtrack will be released on vinyl in July. Late last year Madlib had discussed the possibility of another Madvillain album with collaborator DOOM, but in March 2014 he released an album with rapper Freddie Gibbs entitled Piñata. He also appeared at SXSW 2014 in Austin as a showcasing performer.
