Louisiana rapper, Kevin Gates, kicks off his upcoming “By Any Means” tour this July in Houston, TX. He’ll arrive in Philly late in August for a stop at The TLA. Catch Kevin Gates and special guest Chevy Woods on 8/21!
Recently nabbing a spot on the coveted XXL Freshman List, Kevin Gates is set to become the next big thing out of New Orleans. He shares a spot on this year’s cover with the likes of Chance the Rapper and Vic Mensa. These upcoming summer months of touring are a sure way for him to prove why he was picked for the list. By Any Means is also the name of Gates’ most recent mixtape. The tape, which dropped in March of this year, debuted at number 17 on the Billboard 200 and has sold 17,000 copies in the US. But Gates’ has been getting a ton of recognition from other publications too. Last year, Rolling Stone named his song “Wylin” as one of their 100 Best Songs of 2013.
This summer, Taylor Gang member Chevy Woods will be getting the crowds ready for Kevin Gates as he opens for him on the By Any Means tour. Like the Taylor Gang founder, Woods is also from Pittsburgh. You may recognize him as Wiz Khalifa’s frequent tour hypeman. But now all the hype is on Chevy Woods. Last year he released Gangland 2 via Taylor Gang records. The mixtape features appearances from Wiz Khalifa (of course), Juicy J, Trinidad James, and others. Catch both Chevy Woods and Kevin Gates this August at The TLA!
