Ben Folds (with The Philadelphia Orchestra) @ The Mann 7/24

Multi-talented singer-songwriter Ben Folds is headed to Philly this summer for what is sure to be a really exciting and unique experience. He’ll be performing alongside The Philadelphia Orchestra this July. Catch Ben Folds on 7/24 at The Mann!

This summer’s performance is probably unlike any other performance you’ve seen from Ben. You can of course expect him to play some of his pop hits, like “Brick” or “Smoke.” But if you’ve seen him perform before, you probably haven’t had the pleasure of witnessing an entire orchestra filling the role of Ben’s “backup band.” Also new for this upcoming performance is that Ben Folds will be performing his new piano concerto, with of course our very own Philadelphia Orchestra to back him. The concerto itself is a three-movement, 21-minute-long piece which he describes as “proudly and overtly derivative.”

Ben Folds has been a pretty busy guy. Making a name for himself recently by judging the a cappella singing competition, The Sing Off. Fans of the singer, both new and old, will certainly want to make their way to The Mann this summer for what guarantees to be a memorable experience. This won’t be your typical classical performance. The lively and energetic Ben Folds will surely bring the “rock ‘n’ roll” to his show and have the crowd on their feet.
