The newest “Outlaw Country” star, Nikki Lane, is headed to our area this July. With a ton of buzz surrounding this budding artist, North Star Bar is bound to be packed on July 26th. Get your tickets now and make sure you’re there to catch Nikki Lane this summer.
This year has been a busy one for Nikki Lane. Following performances at SXSW this past March, including a stop at Willie Nelson’s Heartbreaker Banquet, Lane has been spending time on the road performing. She was here just a few weeks ago, opening for The Whigs at North Star Bar. (The same spot you’ll catch her in July!) Lane apparently had a great time performing in Philly when she was here. During her performance, she showed off a tattoo she had done on South Street following a previous TLA peformance. And after the show she could be found out at that bar enjoying herself with some fans. She’s headed out with The Old 97’s this month, and she’ll be here in Philly for her headlining tour in July. We can only hope this summer’s performance will prove to be just as fun for Lane.
Nikki Lane’s highly anticipated sophomore album, All or Nothin‘ was released just this week. For the record, she teamed up with Dan Auerbach (of The Black Keys) for a sound that seems “to embrace her contradictions: classic and modern, iconoclastic and approachable, country and rock, urban and rural.” In her own words, Nikki Lane describes her music in saying, “My songs always paint a pretty clear picture of what’s been going on in my life, so this is one moody record. There’s a lot of talk of misbehaving and moving on.”
