Now that Indie Cindy, their first album in 23 years, is firmly on the shelves, the Pixies are geared to ramp their touring back up with a run of North American stops this fall.
So very much has gone done for the Pixies since founding bassist Kim Deal left the group less than a year ago, but the band has maintained a stout touring schedule, despite it. This including their hiring and firing of bassist Kim Shattuck for last year’s fall tour, then their add-on of Paz Lenchantin as the newest Pixies touring bassist. With Lenchantin, the group wound their way through a winter tour that ended in Austin on March 1st.
In these past 11 months, the Pixies have also given fans plenty of new music, including their first song since 2004, “Bagboy”, a four-track EP in EP-1, thenEP-2, which gave us the video for “Blue-Eyed Hexe.”
Be sure to check Pixies out on tour this fall, if you can – and stay tuned to mxdwn for any additions to the schedule the band may make.
