Yuna is a Malaysian singer, songwriter and business woman. She started her music career at the age of 19 while attending law school. Her first self-titled EP was released in Malaysia in 2008. The single “Deeper Conversation” off of the EP was huge hit, and landed “Best English Song” at the 2009 AIM Awards, Malaysia’s national music awards. She has also received “Best Pop Song” and “Song of the Year” for her single “Dan Sebenarnya.”
In 2012, Yuna joined FADER Label and released her EP Decorate the following year. Fans and critics from Billboard and The New York Post gave remarkable reviews, including “[Yuna is] an amazing new singer…her music is incredible.” Also, SPIN featured Yuna in their Buzzcatcher piece, “Eight Bands You Need to Hear Now.”
In January 2012, Yuna released “Live Your Life”, the first single from her full-length album. The music video premiered on MTV2 and was featured on the homepage of VEVO.com. Yuna’s self-titled album was released on April 24, 2012.
