Yeshe Perl, better known by his stage name, is known for his raunchy lyrics that deal with his experiences with substance abuse and prostitution. His family upbringing was tumultuous and both he and his parents were involved with drugs. Avalon’s paternal grandparents are Holocaust survivors; both endured lasting injuries from their imprisonment at Auschwitz. Avalon is from Hollywood, California. His debut self-titled album was released in 2006 on Interscope/Shoot to Kill Records, in association with Myspace Records. Currently, he is signed to Suburban Noize Records.
In 2006, after the release of his debut album, his singles “Jane Fonda” and “Mr. Right” became his well-known singles. Together, the singles have accumulated over 4 million views on YouTube. In 2007, Avalon contributed lyrics and vocals on Unwritten Law’s single “Shoulda Known Better.” Avalon also featured in a Boost Mobile rap commercial with Jarmaine Dupri and Young Jeezy.
Recently, in 2011 he signed to Suburban Noize Records where he recorded and released a 4-track EP titled, On the Ave. His latest album titled, Loaded, was released on the label in April of 2012.
