Higgins Waterproof Black Magic Band shared a video for “Mad Lifeline” from their album EP. According to stereogum.com, “the clip features a strange introductory parking lot scene, dancing angels of death, and a lengthy intergalactic graphics sequence”.
Higgins Waterproof Black Magic Band was formed by Tunde Adebimpe in 2012. In addition to Adebimpe, the band’s members are Ryan Sawyer (Lone Wolf and Cub), Josh Werner (Lee “Scratch” Perry, CocoRosie), and Alex Holden (Big Numbers). The group’s debut album came out in 2013. Stereogum.com described it as, “vibrant, smooth, and just weird enough to fit the band’s aims as described by member Ryan Sawyer: ‘Beauty. Community. And comic books.” The album is five tracks long.
The band started their album tour on April 25 in Vancouver. The remaining tour dates are listed below.
Tunde Adebimpe is also known as the front man for the band TV on the Radio which formed in 2001. TV on the Radio released their last album in May of 2013. Adebimpe, who is known for his influence in Brooklyn, has decided to move on to Los Angeles. This tour will be his last performances before the move.
In a interview with the Rolling Stone Adebimpe said, “I’m a little sad [to be leaving NY]. It’s pretty sudden, but New York will be here and it’s already so different from when I moved here that it will be exciting to come back in 10 years and see what it is”.
