Anberlin are heading to Philly as part of their last tour ever. They will be at The TLA on November 15th to say goodbye to fans who have been enjoying their music for over a decade. Before embarking on their final tour, the band will play the entire Warped Tour, so area fans will also have another chance to see them when they play at the Susquehanna Bank Center in July.
Earlier this year, Anberlin announced that 2014 would be the final year for the band, which formed in 2002. In addition to a final album, they also announced that they would head out on one final world tour. Their message to fans read, “In 2014 we’re going to release our final record and tour the world one more time. We don’t want to fade out. We want to end with hugs and celebrate the life that was Anberlin and not be bummed about us ending.” At this point, they have only announced 3 dates for the US leg of the tour (Philly, Boston, and New York) but they promise that other dates will be added very soon.
Anberlin formed in Florida in 2002 and they subsequently signed with Tooth & Nail Records. After three studio albums and five years with the label, Anberlin signed with Universal Republic. They would go on to release four more albums with Universal, the last of which was Devotion in 2013. Anberlin will be reuniting with their original record label for the release of their final album.
