Cali natives Trash Talk have been thrashing our eager ears since 2005, and they are not about to quit now. The four piece announced a follow up to the 2012 album, 119. The hardcore punkers had been gathering traction particularly since the release of Eyes & nines in 2010 and the EP that followed shortly thereafter in 2011, Awake. Committed to keeping the tradition of hardcore punk alive, the band still managed to switch it up by releasing this latest effort through the controversial collective, Odd Future, distributed by Sony. Odd Future’s place in the hip hop circle (it was founded by rapper Tyler, the Creator) actually end up complimenting their overtly aggressive sound perfectly.

The band have also made some more subtle changes to their sound, which has provoked a typically expected discussion of the upcoming album as a “sellout” album. While far from being so, listeners can notice that the tracklist is long for even a standard pop album, let alone a punk one. In fact, both Awake and Eyes & Nines combined is still shorter than this tracklist. They also have a semblance of choruses and hooks for the listeners to nab onto, and have kindly slowed down their tempo somewhat for the less hardcore among us. But don’t let that fool you- this quartet will still rock your socks off faster than you can talk trash. Check out a teaser for the album below.
